    The Texas Chapter of Chinese Association for Science and Technology (CAST-TX), founded in 1999 in Dallas, Texas, as a non-for-profit organization. CAST-TX is a local chapter of the CAST-USA which is founded in 1992 at New York. CAST-USA has 12 local chapters with over 8000 members. The mission of CAST-TX is to foster academic exchange and professional development; to support STEM education for young generations; and to romote outstanding traditions of the Chinese community.

    STEM Bridge

    CAST has officially launched the first summer research and education project for high school students. The project aims to help high school students to conduct research internships at university research laboratories in Dallas area to promote their interest in science and technology and to improve their scientific literacy and research capabilities.

    Angela Chen

    President

    Angela Chen currently serves as the Investment Member of Compatriot Capital. She specialize in commercial real estate investment, acqusitions, and real estate company platform investment. Prior join Compatriot Capital, she served as Vice President of Henry S Miller Brokerage Company, specilize in commercial real estate investment, tenant representation, and transactions.

    Angela studied finance at the University of Macau and earned an M.B.A. in finance and real estate at the University of Texas at Dallas

    Dr. Kelvin Xu

    Chairman of Board

    Mr. Xu is a partner of LigthPath Services Corp, a startup of next generation of hi-tech. Mr . Xu graduated from McGill University and University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He was a VP of Asia-Pacifc in AuBay Services Corp. to manage hi-tech projects and raise a PE funding for these projects. Before that, he was a principal software engineer in SkyFiber Corp. He has many years of professional experiences in S&P 500 companies (Bell Canada, Nortel, Alcatel, Fujitsu) as well as startups. His expertises includes: OS, Network protocols, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), wireless sensor, multi-media, tablet computer, DSP, SONET and DWDM. Mr. Xu holds multiple US patents in wireless, IoT, and optics communication.

    Dr. Dong Qian

    VP of Education

    Dr. Dong Qian is a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas. He received his B.S. degree in Bridge Engineering from Tongji University in China in 1994, his M.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri in 1998 and Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2002. Shortly after his graduation, He was hired as an assistant professor of mechanical engineering in the University of Cincinnati and promoted to the rank of associate professor with tenure in 2008. In the Fall of 2012, he joined the newly established Mechanical Engineering Department as a tenured associate professor at the University of Texas at Dallas and was promoted to Full Professor in 2015. Dr. Qian has conducted research in the general areas of computational mechanics of materials. His research has been funded by NSF, AFOSR, AFRL, State of Ohio and industries such as P&G and General Electric. He is currently the assistant editor for the Journal of Computational Mechanics and serves on editorial board for two other journals on computational mechanics. He is the past Chair of the Elasticity Committee under ASME Applied Mechanics Division and current serves as the vice-Chair for the Committee on Computing in Applied Mechanics (CONCAM) in the same division.

    Dr. Xingyu Zou

    Executive VP

    Dr. Xingyu Zou graduated from University of Science and Technology of China. He got his PhD. in Physics at University of Rochester. He has done extensive work with nonclassical quantum interference effects which goes to the heart quantum mechanics, that all matter can behave both as particles or wave, but both behaviors can not be observed simultaneously. After graduation, Dr. Xingyu Zou worked on the fiber optical communication system include the ultra-long haul amplified system and analog WDM system. He was involved in the demonstration of the first longest non-repeated terrestrial fiber optical transmission system in the United States. Dr. Xingyu Zou has 2 patents in the field of fiber optical WDM system.

    Gary Zhang

    Accounting Officer

    Mr. Zhang is a certified public accountant in Texas. Mr. Zhang obtained his BS degree from Shanghai Maritime University and MS in Accounting and Information Management from UT Dallas. He has been working in accounting and taxation field for many years. Mr. Zhang is currently a partner with A. Morani CPA P.C.

    Dr. Xinrong Yang

    VP of Operation

    Dr. Yang has worked in various fields of the semiconductor and IC design industry for over 20 years, including wireless communication, mobile platforms, biochemical sensing, power control and management. She is currently with Texas Instrument as a design engineer. Outside the technical career, She has been an active participant and volunteer of community outreach programs including CAST STEMBridge. Dr. Yang holds a BS degree from Southeast University, and MS and PHD from University of Texas at Dallas, all in Electrical Engineering.

    Sam Cheng

    VP of Entrepreneurship

    Founded several startup companies since 2013, including an IT security consulting firm: SDC International LLC, and an innovative technology company: Quanlanck Technology, INC. Also, Sam served in technology and telecom companies in Dallas area for more than 20 years. In previous positions, he served as Director of IT Services for T-Mobile, Director of back office products for Goodman Networks and MetroPCS, and Associate Director of billing operations for AT&T. He holds an MBA from Texas A&M International University and a Bachelor’s degree from Nanjing University.

    Logan Song

    VP of Public Relations

    Dr. Song is the Chief Architect and Director of Cloud Computing at Dito, aGoogle Cloud partner company. With 25+ years of experience, Dr. Song is highly skilled in Enterprise IT architecture, specializing in Cloud Computing and
    Machine Learning. Dr. Song holds the highest certifications from Amazon, Google and Microsoft in Cloud Computing and Machine Learning. CurrentlyDr. Song serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Texasat Dallas.

    Jiaming Zhang

    VP of IT

    Serial entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Zcoder, a web development company based on Plano, TX. He has more than 10 years of working experience in Fortune 500 companies. He has managed more than 60 software projects as a technical project manager and has extensive experience in global team management. Currently he works as CTO in an industry leading e-commerce company. He has extensive practical experience in user experience, software and blockchain architecture, quantitative project management and risk control.

    Jack Sun

    VP of Volunteers

    Jack Sun has more than 20 years of experience in Engineering Consulting, Industrial Manufacturing and Automated Production industries.Jack has rich experience in both China, Canada and USA as successful professional manager, he served as executive manager in Fortune 500 Company and Sino-Foreign Joint Venture.Jack earned his EMBA from USTC and Bachelor of Engineering from HUT. He is also a senior engineer, and has extensive technical knowledge and experience in Industrial field.

    Ethan Liu

    STEM Bridge Summer Camp Liaison

    Ethan was the team leader of the 2021 CAST STEM Bridge program at UTD. His team (supervised by Professor Weili Wu) won 3rd place among 16 teams.

    Ethan has a passion to help young people. He is the Co-president of DataRizon.org, a non-profit organization that promotes and teaches data science in the real world. He is the founder of Bridge America, a volunteer platform for American students to teach foreign kids English. He also launched “Food Plus”,a project that brings leftover fresh food from parties to those in need. As the High School Liaison, Ethan’s responsibilities include coordinating the program with high school participants, promoting the program to students, and recruiting and organizing volunteers.

    Jeffrey Xu

    STEM Bridge Summer Camp Liaison

    Jeffrey is a recent graduate from Texas A&MUniversity with a double degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics with minors in Statistics and Cybersecurity. Along with graduating from the
    engineering honors program in only three years, Jeffrey received a perfect GPA
    and is a URS scholar. Jeffrey currentlyworks as a software engineer developing software security solutions in Silicon
    Valley. He has also competed in STEM CAST twice in 2016 and 2018.

    Bo Wang

    Executive Member

    Bo Wang is the Director of corporate treasury of Santander Consumer USA, one of the largest subprime auto lending businesses. Prior to that, she was finance manager in ZTE USA and worked at the treasury team in JP Morgan Chase NYC. She has over 10 years with multinational companies. Ms. Wang holds an MBA from Pace university and a bachelor’s degree from Fudan University.

    Jennifer Xin Ding

    Executive Member

    Ms. Ding is a seasoned Senior Financial Analyst at Abbott with over 20 years of experience in Cost Accounting and Finance Accounting. She obtained her Master's degree in Accounting and Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. In her free time, she actively volunteers in the community, demonstrating her dedication to making a positive impact beyond her professional endeavors.

    Yucheng Miller

    Executive Member

    Yuch joined Goldman Sachs in 2013. Prior to assumingher current role as a Private Wealth Advisor, Yuch was a Vice President in the Global Markets Division focusing on Management and Strategy for the Interest Rate Products, Currency and Commodities businesses. She graduated magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College with a double major in Economics and Biochemistry and a minor in Mathematics. She is a CFA Charterholder and is a member of the CFA society of Dallas/Ft. Worth and is also an executive member of US China Chamber of Commerce Dallas.

    Walter Wu Currently thriving at J.P.Morgan Chase & Co.. He specilize in optimizing mortgage risk analytics with a backgroundin applied mathematics and business analytics. Outside of work, he finds relaxation in golfing and traveling. With a keen
    interest in AI, Walter stays updated on the latest advancements in the field. He holds a Bachelor's degree inApplied Math from the University of Rochester and a Master's degree in Business Analytics from the University of Texas at Austin.

    May 17, 2015 - CAST-USA delegation of 17 people is led by Prof. Walter Hu (President of CAST-TX) and Dr. Chris Guo (President of CAST-NC) to attend 13th CIEP conference. The team has visited several tech parks in Shenzhen.
